Nollywood actor Efa Iwara has opened up about his career journey so far, and according to him, he’s not quite where he wants to be yet.
The Men’s Club star sat down for a chat with media personality Chude Jideonwo, where he spoke about his growth, frustrations, and the pressure to do more.
Despite being one of the familiar faces in Nigeria’s new-wave TV and film scene, Efa said he feels like he hasn’t scratched the surface of what he’s truly capable of.
“No, I am not happy with where my career is,” he confessed during the interview. “I feel like I can do so much more. I feel like there’s so much potential that is untapped. I feel like I can work twice as hard as I’m working now, pending that I don’t break down. I’m just never satisfied, never satisfied.”

Efa said he’s his own biggest critic and is always chasing that next level, even if it means pushing himself more than most.
However, he made it clear that he’s also conscious of not sacrificing his well-being in the process. According to him, he’s all for working hard and going all in, but not at the cost of his health.
Speaking further, the rapper-turned-actor got candid about some of his childhood struggles, especially with speech. He revealed that he was born with a stammer and had to learn how to navigate conversations at an early age, thanks to support from his elder brother.
“I was born a stammerer,” Efa said, recalling how difficult it was growing up with a speech impediment.
“He’d tell me, ‘Take your time, breathe, think about what you want to say before you say it.’”
He credited his brother’s patience and encouragement for helping him gain more control over his speech and confidence in expressing himself.
The thespian started out as a rapper in the early 2000s before gradually transitioning into acting, where he found a new platform to tell stories and connect with people.
He said he’s grateful for the progress so far, but he still sees a lot of room for growth.
“I know there’s more in me,” he said. “I just need to keep going until I find that space that feels just right.”
