Bucci Franklin aka Oboz in the popular movie “To Kill A Monkey ” took us on a journey on how he landed the role, from a late night monologue and a faith with God.

He said, ”I have always wanted to have a project with Kemi Adetiba, who is a film producer”. Bucci further disclosed that,  “I was commuting with my Heavenly Father. I said, “This is someone I want to work with, please make it happen. And he did”

Bucci was sick, when he got the opportunity unexpectedly, he got a call asking him to make a recording and submit a monologue and the deadline was less than 24 hours.

Over 4,000 people already showed up for the auditions. He said “But I was going to go I believe my time would come another way “

Bucci still battling with malaria, took immediate action with the help of his friend Edé whose name was later made as a special appearance. He recorded a nine minute monologue at a friend’s hotel where he was attending a meeting.

He said “There was no set, no light just me and the camera and a hotel room. But we made it work.

Not long after, he got a call from Kemi Adetiba younger brother and said “Luci, you’ve got the job. We all need you here for a couple months.” And that was it.”

Bucci realised how long the project had been in works, after talking with Kemi Adetiba, dating back to one of her previous works ‘King of Boys‘.

He said “When I spoke with Kemi Adetiba, I asked if we could pray together. We reverenced God. Because for me, Yahweh is my number one agent.”

Now with the popular series trending, Bucci aka Oboz gave credits to his faith, resilience, persistent and being ready when the opportunity came.
