Veteran Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola has opened up about her personal life, saying she has received many marriage proposals but turned them down because she has not found the right partner.
The 52-year-old actress, who has been in the movie industry for decades, said she does not see her single status as a problem. According to her, marriage should not be rushed into just because of societal pressure.

In her words, “For me not to have found my partner, the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, I don’t see it as a negative. I’ve been proposed to many times, and I’ve said no.”
She pointed out that the rate of divorce in Nigeria is on the rise because many people marry to please others instead of taking time to choose carefully.
“Did you just marry because people say marry? Look at divorce ratings now in Nigeria, it’s skyrocketing. Some people are married before they even leave the reception, the marriage has already broken up,” she said.
The actress also spoke about how society raises children. She stressed that boys and girls should be brought up with the same sense of responsibility. According to her, young men must also be taught that their bodies are the temple of God, not only young women.
“Teach your sons that their body is the temple of God the same way you teach your daughters. As soon as you impregnate a girl, no more school for you, my dear. Go and work and raise your child,” Akintola added.
