Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has joined other Yoruba stars to attend the burial of her colleague Faithia Williams’ mother, Gloria Williams today, March 7, 2026.
A video that has gone viral shows Aigbe looking sombre as she comforts Williams, who was weeping at her mother’s burial.
eelive.ng understands that the wake-keeping was held in Ikorodu, Lagos. The interment and lying in state took place on today at Ebony Vaults in Ikoyi Cemetery.
The actress and her ex-husband, Saidi Balogun, led family members, friends, and sympathisers to honour the late Gloria Williams, who passed away in February.
Sharing a video from the burial ceremony, Aigbe prayed that late Gloria Williams find rest.
Expressing the pain of losing a loved one, the actress noted that she stood by her colleague, Williams because she understands how painful it feels to walk such path.
In her words: “Today I stood beside my Big Sis @faithiawilliams as she laid her beloved mother to rest.
“Having recently walked this painful path myself, I know how heavy this moment is.
May God grant her mum eternal rest and give you and your family the strength to carry on.
“You are in my heart and prayers always. Mothers are truly a gift we never stop missing….ADIEU MAMA”
