Popular Yoruba actress, Doyin Kukoyi, has reacted to reports linking her with veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
In a recent interview on Seun Oloketuyi’s YouTube channel, Kukoyi explained how the story started and why many people still believe it till today. She said the rumour began after she posted a picture of herself with Ogogo from a movie location where they acted as husband and wife.
According to her, they were on set playing the role of a married couple whose daughter was getting married. After the shoot, she and Ogogo posed for a photograph. Kukoyi later shared the picture on her social media page. However, she said many people misunderstood the photo and assumed it was from her personal life, not from a movie.

The actress noted that the misunderstanding quickly spread, with people concluding that she was truly married to Ogogo.
In her words, “I was at a movie location with Ogogo, we both played the roles of husband and wife, and in that movie our daughter got married. After the scene, we took a picture together. I shared the picture on my social media page, and people picked it up and started saying we were married. Till today, many people still believe I’m married to Ogogo. I only took the picture with him because I loved him.”
Kukoyi also took time to talk about her career journey. She revealed that she has been in the movie industry for over thirty years. She explained that her first experience in the media was with Daar Communications before she fully established herself as an actress in Nollywood.
