I stumbled into the music industry by accident' – Mr. Eazi

Singer Mr. Eazi has revealed that becoming a musician was not his childhood dream.

According to him, he stumbled into the music scene by accident.

He described how he stumbled into the music industry and his internal struggle with fulfilment as a musician in an interview with media personality Angela Lee, which led him to consider quitting music after performing at Coachella in 2019.

Mr. Eazi also owns Zagadat Capital, an IT company.

He admitted that he had a point in his career when he felt disenchanted, despite the fact that he had the opportunity to perform at Coachella only three years into his music career.

“Coachella’s opening day was the first time I performed there, and when I exited the stage, I felt nothing. Absent joy. no melancholy.”

He said:“For someone who never aspired to be an artist, I’m performing Coachella in my third year of my career, and I feel nothing.

“So, for me, it was a sign that I would either have to stop doing music or find another career. Because I needed to take a break or because it wasn’t a healthy sensation to have. I could have been burned out.

And it was when COVID struck that I first paused to reflect and plan my next course of action.

I was learning about the music industry because I had founded Empawa.

But even listening to music was exhausting.

How can a music industry function without music? So I simply delegated that task to my coworkers.”

He eventually decided to delegate certain tasks to his colleagues to find a renewed sense of purpose as he pondered how to operate within a field that was wearing him out.
