However, Wizkid’s relaxed energy put Ayra at ease, and their collaboration has since blossomed into a close-knit friendship. Ayra described Wizkid as an “amazing friend” who has become like a big brother figure to her. During their recent video shoot, Wizkid playfully teased her, saying “He kept saying, ‘Ayra, you’ve grown a lot! What’s the tip? He’s an amazing friend, really.”
Ayra praised Wizkid’s peaceful presence and shared sense of humor, saying “Just being around him is peaceful. We even share the same sense of humor.” The two artists have clearly developed a strong bond, both in and out of the studio.
Wizkid and Ayra Starr’s first collaboration was “2 Sugar”, released in 2022 as part of Wizkid’s “More Love” album. This song marked the beginning of their musical partnership, showcasing their chemistry.
Gimme Dat is another project they both worked on. The song samples Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige’s classic 911 and quickly gained traction on streaming platforms, debuting at number one on Nigeria’s Spotify chart.
