Nigerian singer Omah Lay shared on Twitter last night that he had been robbed at the airport and some music equipment had been stolen from him.

The Godly singer revealed that they robbers stole his laptop and microhone from his box. “So they stole my laptop, microphone & audio interface from my box at the airport LMAO, y’all looking for a hit record or what?” he tweeted.

Omah Lay did not specify what airport the unfortunate incident occured in; neither did he state any concern over the thief possibly leaking unreleased songs.

Omah Lay has had a pretty good run in his music career so far; topping charts and performing at concerts abroad.

However, it has not been smooth sailing. Back in December, Omah Lay suffered in police custody in Uganda after they detained him and Tems for breaking COVID-19 guidelines and performing at an “unauthorized” concert.

After their arrest, the singers were in court the next day on charges of doing “acts that are likely to cause the spread of infectious disease COVID-19.”

They spent two days behind bars before the Ugandan police let them go. According to Omah Lay, the punishment did not fit the crime, and the police treated him like a criminal.
