I won’t go broke should I stop doing music- 2Baba

Innocent Idibia, a veteran Nigerian recording artiste who is better known as 2Face or 2Baba, has addressed rumours that he is broke.

Appearing in a recent episode of the +234 Mzansi Podcast co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu, the ‘African Queen’ hitmaker clarified that he isn’t broke as reported.

2Baba explained that he invested his musical earnings into other ventures. He emphasised that he can live comfortably with or without doing music.

I’m not broke. I invested my money. I can live with or without music,” the singer said.

Innocent Ujah Idibia MON known by his stage name 2Baba and formerly as 2Face Idibia, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, record producer, and philanthropist known for his solo debut album, Face 2 Face.

He is regarded as one of the “most influential” and greatest Afrobeats artists of all time, following his contributions to Nigerian pop music in the 2000s.

2Baba is reputed to be one of the most bankable artists in Nigeria and Africa.

He has investments in real estate, a record label, and the hospitality industry.

Recent Controversy

2Baba has been married to Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia since 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria. A civil ceremony was held in Dubai on 23 March 2013, and they have two children.

On 26 January 2025, he announced his separation and impending divorce from his wife, Annie, on Instagram. A few days later, the singer was seen with Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly
