A viral proposal video currently circulating on social media has generated mixed reactions from Nigerian online spaces after a man boldly declared he would not kneel to propose to his partner.
In the clip, shared widely on different platforms, the man stands confidently in a restaurant holding out an engagement ring as he tells his surprised girlfriend upfront: “I’m not going to kneel down because I’m a king.”
He then proceeds with the proposal while remaining on his feet, framing the moment as one of royal equality rather than traditional submission.
The woman, visibly taken aback at first by his declaration, eventually accepts the ring amid the public setting. The video captures her initial shock turning into acceptance. This has however caught the attention of viewers on social media with each giving their opinion:
