Reacting to the verdict, Umoh called on President Bola Tinubu to consider a political resolution.

He said: “This is not surprising. Nnamdi Kanu’s sentence was expected. Now that the conviction has been delivered, can we focus on the next pressing issue: a political solution through clemency or a state pardon?

Nnamdi Kanu

“If repentant terrorists from northern Nigeria can be pardoned and even reintegrated into key national security institutions, then a similar gesture can be extended to Nnamdi Kanu. Mr. President, please balance the scales. Show greater leadership than your predecessor. I believe you can, and I hope you will.”
