Davido, the Nigerian Afrobeat star, has sparked controversy on social media after responding to trolls criticising him for flaunting his father’s private jets.
The Afrobeats singer took to his X handle to address his critics, stating, “This free jet I’m flying all around the world is really painful to you. I’m sorry it’s my birthright. In my next life, I’ll come back as a vulcaniser. Ma binu.”

Davido’s tweet was a response to netizens who were unhappy about him flying private jets, which he attributed to his birthright. He also hinted at acquiring a third private jet, tweeting, “3rd aeroplane on the way btw”.
Davido has previously spoken about how his wealthy background attracts hate in the music industry, despite building his own brand and career. He believes people struggle to give him credit because of his privileged upbringing.
