Imisi Ayanwale is one of the contestants in the ongoing Big Brother Naija competition, and, like other housemates, she is gradually garnering momentum.

On the opening day of the tenth edition of the BBNaija competition, fifteen women were introduced to usher the audience into the program.

Interestingly, after nine editions of the competition, female contestants have learnt and are prepared to develop a ‘strategy’ on how they can join the elongating list of women, such as Mercy Eke, Phyna, and Ilebaye, who have won the competition.
It is important to note that the aforementioned female winners had personality, something viewers always wanted to see when they tuned in or clicked on. For Eke, she was the life of the party and won almost every game that she participated in during the 2019 BBNaija Pepper Dem edition. She would go on to finish as runner-up to the self-acclaimed Gen Z baddie, Ilebaye, during her second attempt in the BBNaija Allstars edition.

Imisi is a 23-year-old contestant from Oyo state. She is a burgeoning movie actor and fashion designer. During her introduction, she spoke about what she was bringing to the show.
Talking to the BBNaija host, Ebuka, Imisi said, “I am here to show the world who I am, no filters, no hiding. This is a chance to test my limits and build new connections. I’m here for the challenge, the excitement, and to prove that I’m more than just a pretty face. My strategy is to be myself, build strong alliances, and always bring positive vibes.”
Audience Perception and How Personality Wins You BBNaija
The Big Brother Naija program is a reality show that is predominantly aimed at audience perception and validation. The contestants are on the show to entertain, fascinate, and, if possible, educate their audience. If the contestant cannot achieve these objectives, he or she would be removed from the house; this simply means no one finds you entertaining enough to remain on their screen.
Due to the expectations the viewers have of these contestants, the contestants would try different methodologies to appeal to their onlookers. Some would cry, get naked, and if possible, enter a relationship just to stay relevant in the house. As a matter of fact, the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, sternly warned the contestants not to be boring.
This is why people with natural imperfections are usually the most exciting people on the show. The coolest or the so-called hottest contestants rarely win, because they are not intriguing enough to gather votes from viewers.
A typical example would be Laycon’s emergence to prominence in 2020. He won the BBNaija Lockdown competition despite the odds being massively against him on the opening day of the competition. His personality and skill grew over time with the viewers.
This leads us to our primary character for today, Imisi. Social media users stated that she cannot speak English, and she dresses like the late Yoruba movie comedian, Baba Suwe. Interestingly, it is these imperfect qualities that make her fun to watch and become a mainstay on the television program.
Further, she is developing a bond with fellow contestant, Kaybobo, a contestant who has been considered to be one of the most good-looking in the house.
