Controversial relationship adviser, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has reacted to the arrest of her fiancé, celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD.

IVD was reportedly arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Friday, while preparing to travel to Qatar. His arrest is said to be linked to the ongoing manslaughter case concerning the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.

In a statement shared on her verified Instagram page, Blessing CEO questioned the reason behind his detention and claimed that no official travel ban had ever been placed on him.

IVD never submitted any passport to the court. His passport was missing and after two years into the case, he did a new passport. There was no ban whatsoever on him. If there was, why would he make his travel public?” she wrote.

She added that IVD had never missed a court date in three years and had no intention of fleeing the country.

IVD has never jumped bail in the three years of the ongoing case. Why would he run for just a 10-day trip that has a return ticket?”

Blessing CEO further claimed that the arrest was politically motivated and not based on any formal court order or case file.

Nobody arrested IVD. One man is using power to bully IVD. No case file, no statement, just said ‘Oga said hold him till Monday, so we go lock am up.’”

She also said that the legal system was being used to punish IVD unfairly because of his gender.

Stop bullying IVD because he is a MAN. Stop intimidating him. Just because you could not take his life, you are doing everything to intimidate him.”

According to her, this situation has nothing to do with justice but is instead an emotional and tribal issue.

This is tribal war. It has nothing to do with justice. And the state must be questioned.”

She called on the Lagos State Government to intervene before things get worse.

Lagos State, please come into this before it gets messy. Why are they holding IVD?”
