In a moment of vindication and celebration, Nigerian relationship expert Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has announced that her fiancé, Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna better known as IVD, has been fully discharged and acquitted in the legal battle over the death of his estranged wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
The landmark ruling which happened today, December 15, 2025, ended a four-year courtroom saga that had birthed national discussion on domestic violence and justice.
Bimbo’s untimely demise in October 2022, amid accusations of abuse leveled against IVD, had launched the family into the spotlight, with IVD facing charges of manslaughter and related offenses.

Taking to Instagram, the excited fiancée, shared the joyous news in words of relief and gratitude. “Discharged and acquitted… 15th December 2025… It ended in praise. 4 years of tears and false narratives. Nigeria’s justice system still works. I am proud of my country. Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna IVD. You can now have your life back. Congratulations…,” she wrote.
Recall that in August, eelive.ng, reported that IVD was detained at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport en route to Qatar, and was barred from leaving Nigeria until the case resolved, a development Blessing CEO decried as undue harassment, vowing to expose those “bullying” her partner.
Their romance, first hinted at in 2023 through cryptic social media posts, blossomed into an official engagement by April 2024.
