Fuji music Saheed Osupa has responded to a Muslim cleric known as Alfa Olopa Meta, over a death prophecy about him.
This comes after the cleric, Alfa Olopa Meta posted a video saying he had received a divine message that Osupa would die on that date.
The cleric then suggested that the singer buys a ram for ritual to avoid the fate.
Responding publicly, Osupa during a live performance on Sunday, January 11 2026, rejected the prophecy, calling it fake and baseless.
He further said that those wishing him death would die in his place.
He said, “Fake Alfa and prophet please don’t wish me dead. Everyone who wishes me dead will die in my place.
“Close enemies, unknown enemies, enemies of my career and the ones in my neighborhood, better don’t wish me dead, or you would die before me.”
Osupa also urged religious leaders and content creators not to use entertainers’ lives for attention and called on the public to ignore baseless prophecies.
Following backlash, Olopameta later retracted his claim, admitting the prophecy was false. He apologised publicly and promised not to repeat such statements.
