Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele has responded to a social media user who asked her to stop promoting her latest film, ‘’Behind The Scene” after reportedly surpassed ₦2.6 billion at the box office.
In a viral Snapchat video shared recently, the actress-filmmaker addressed a direct message from a fan: “Behind the scenes has grossed over 2.6 billion. Why are you still promoting it? Go and relax now, you’re not tired?”
Akindele responded with characteristic drive: “It’s not about the money. The most important thing is consistency. If you want to be successful, if you want to keep breaking records, you have to be consistent, keep pushing your market. It’s never enough.”

Released in December 2025 by FilmOne Entertainment, Behind The Scenes which Akindele co-directed and produced, has shattered multiple Nollywood records. It became the first Nigerian film to cross the ₦2 billion milestone —reaching over ₦2.1 billion by mid-January 2026, and cemented its status as the highest-grossing Nollywood title of all time in West Africa.
The film’s exceptional run has extended Akindele’s dominance, making her the continent’s top-grossing filmmaker for three consecutive years.
