Nigerian celebrity auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, who is better known as IVD, has been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to reports, IVD was picked up on Friday by officers from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions while he was on his way to Qatar. He was reportedly traveling for his wedding with controversial relationship adviser, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO.

The arrest is connected to the ongoing legal case involving the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna. Popular blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus confirmed the arrest on Instagram. She said IVD is still in court for a domestic violence-related case and is not supposed to leave the country until the matter is settled.
“Domestic violence case against him regarding his late wife is still in court. IVD is not supposed to leave Nigeria until the case is over,” she wrote.
IVD and his late wife, Bimbo, were once considered a power couple on social media. However, their relationship was often surrounded by controversy and accusations of abuse.
In October 2022, tragedy struck when Bimbo died from injuries she got during a fire incident at their home in Lagos. Witnesses and family members claimed the fire was a result of a violent fight between the couple. After her death, many Nigerians called for justice, blaming IVD for allegedly abusing her for years.
Following investigations, the Lagos State Government filed a case against IVD. He was charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No. LD/21055C/23. This means the court believes he may have caused his wife’s death without intending to kill her.
The case has been in court since 2023, and authorities say he is not allowed to travel outside Nigeria until the matter is concluded.
After Bimbo’s death, IVD was often seen with Blessing CEO, a social media personality known for giving controversial relationship advice. Their closeness sparked public anger, especially because Blessing openly supported IVD and even made videos defending him during his legal troubles.
News of their upcoming wedding made headlines recently, and now, his attempt to travel out of the country has led to his arrest.
As of the time of this report, the Lagos State Government has not issued an official statement on IVD’s arrest.
