
Iyanya, the popular Nigerian singer, has opened up about a deeply painful chapter of his life, revealing how he endured the loss of his father, brother, and mother within the span of just two years.
In a recent emotional interview with media personality Hero Daniels, the music star described those moments as the lowest points in his life and career.
Iyanya revealed that his father passed away barely a week before he landed his first major music deal. The grief was still fresh when his brother tragically died shortly after his official debut into the music scene.

However, the most harrowing moment came on the day his mother passed. According to the singer, he was backstage preparing to perform at an event when he got the heartbreaking call, just four minutes before he was scheduled to go on stage.
“The lowest points of my life were losing three family members in two years,” Iyanya shared. “My dad passed about seven or eight days before I got signed. Right after my debut, my brother died. And then my mom.
“The day she died, I was backstage. My uncle kept calling, and when I finally picked up, he told me, ‘Your mom is dead.’ I was shattered, but I still went ahead and performed.”
Despite the immense pain, Iyanya said he chose to push through, reflecting the strength and resilience that has shaped his journey in the music industry.
