Prominent Nollywood actor, Tawio Hassan better know as Ogogo has passed away.
According to Seun Oloketuyi, Ogogo, known for his work in Nigeria’s film industry died today, August 23rd barely a week after his daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, disclosed that their father had been diagnosed with stage four cancer.
The deceased actor’s family had disclosed that the illness was about three weeks earlier and that it had affected his abdomen. They also noted that some hospitals had informed the family that they could no longer continue with chemotherapy.
The family had also appealed to medical professionals and hospitals with the expertise and facilities to treat Ogogo, saying they were seeking medical assistance rather than financial donations. The actor was also said to be unfit to travel abroad for treatment.
Giving a recent update,Toyosi Adesanya disclosed that Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, had reached out to cancer specialists and that Ogogo had been admitted to the operating theatre.
“Senator Yayi personally reached out to top cancer specialists, and we are grateful to learn that Ogogo has now been admitted to the operating theatre for treatment,” she said.
She also prayed for a successful procedure and the actor’s recovery.
