Veteran Nollywood actor, Kalu Ikeagwu, has spoken about his decision to identify with the Obidient movement.
In a recent interview, the popular actor explained that his alignment with the movement was not by chance but because he believes in what it represents.
According to Ikeagwu, the movement speaks to his personal convictions about honesty, accountability and the need for true change in the country.
He said, “I did not just wake up and say I am Obidient. I looked at what the movement stands for, and I saw that it connects with my own values. For me, it is about integrity and trust. If a leader cannot inspire trust, then everything he promises will not mean anything.”
The actor noted that many Nigerians, especially the youth, are tired of empty promises from politicians. He added that the Obidient movement gave hope to those who still want a better Nigeria.

“People may ask me, why now? But the truth is, this is not about time, it is about doing the right thing. I believe that silence is not an option when you see something you agree with,” he explained.
Ikeagwu also dismissed claims that celebrities join political groups just to remain relevant.
“This is not about being a star. It is about being a citizen. If you believe in something, you should not be afraid to say it,” he added.
