Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has called on the Nigerian Police to ensure justice for the younger sister of former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, after the young woman was seriously injured in a road accident in Auchi, Edo State.

The incident, which happened just days after the victim’s polytechnic graduation, involved a truck allegedly linked to the Dangote Group.

According to reports, the accident was so severe that doctors had to amputate one of her legs. Medical experts are also working to save her other leg, which is at risk due to the injuries.

Kate Henshaw explained in a social media post that the truck driver initially fled the scene after the crash. However, an eyewitness, said to be a lecturer, pursued and caught the driver. She also alleged that the truck’s number plate was removed after the incident. Police officers are reportedly keeping the truck in custody while investigations continue.

She is the junior sister to @unusualphyna. Whoever owns the truck should own up,” Henshaw wrote on X (formerly Twitter). She tagged the Nigeria Police Force’s official handle and Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, urging them to follow the case to ensure justice.

Phyna, whose real name is Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, had earlier spoken out on social media, directly calling out billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, whose company reportedly owns the truck. She accused the Dangote Group of trying to protect those involved instead of taking responsibility for the accident.

In addition, social media activist VeryDarkMan posted a video showing the victim in a hospital bed, with visible injuries, appealing to the public and authorities to take action.

The Dangote Group is one of Nigeria’s largest conglomerates, known for its operations in cement manufacturing, sugar refining, salt processing, and other industries. Its fleet of heavy-duty trucks is a common sight on Nigerian highways, and in the past, the company has faced public criticism over road accidents allegedly involving its vehicles.
