Nollywood actor and comedian Olatayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has strongly condemned the growing trend of social media users turning dangerous substances into online content following rumours surrounding the alleged death of King Mitchy.
Reacting to the disturbing reports, Ijebu expressed deep concern over the influence such content could have on young viewers.
He lamented that many children already have unrestricted access to mobile phones and are constantly exposed to harmful material circulating online.
“We have kids who are already using phones. I don’t know when people turned Sniper and Hypo into content in the name of ‘I want to end it all
“I’m calling on the police to stand up and start arresting them,” he said.

The actor stressed that the normalisation of suicide-related content, especially involving household cleaning products, sends a dangerous message to impressionable audiences. According to him, what may be viewed as clout-chasing or sensationalism could have real-life consequences.
Ijebu further urged authorities to take decisive steps to regulate and penalise individuals who promote harmful narratives online, emphasising that social media should not become a platform for glorifying self-harm or spreading panic.
