Eyiyemi Afolayan, the daughter of the foremost Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, has given her perspective on love and relationships.
According to the Anikulapo actress, she can’t build a relationship with any man because wealthy men often disregard their partners.

Eyiyemi revealed that she would rather marry a poor man than a wealthy one. She went further to explain that she believes wealth can sometimes make men disrespectful or unfaithful in relationships.

According to her, “I cannot marry a rich man and can’t be a second or third wife.” She explained that she prefers a man who is financially modest because he would be less likely to look down on her or engage in infidelity. She argued that once some men become wealthy, they may feel more confident in pursuing other women because they can afford to do so.
However, Eyiyemi clarified that while she prefers a poor man, she cannot marry a man who is completely dependent on her for survival. She stressed that any man she marries must be hardworking and have a legitimate source of income.
She also made it clear that she has no interest in struggling alongside a man to build wealth from scratch, stating, “I can never build with a man.” Adding that Most men are ingrates.”
