Despite being rushed to hospitals, including Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, she succumbed due to a critical shortage of antivenom—a factor that ignited widespread outrage over Nigeria’s healthcare system, emergency services, and snakebite treatment accessibility.

A service of songs and requiem mass took place around February 10-12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Abule Oshun, Dansa, Lagos. A wake keep followed on February 13 at the Nwangene family compound in Enugu. Her burial occurred today in Nara Unateze, with a thanksgiving service scheduled for February 15 to celebrate her vibrant legacy in jazz, opera, classical, and soul music.
