Nollywood actor and producer Lateef Adedimeji has spoken openly about his marriage to fellow actress Mo Bimpe, revealing that he once had no intention of marrying someone from the entertainment industry.
Speaking during an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, Adedimeji explained that although he had made up his mind against marrying a colleague, life ultimately took a different direction.
The actor disclosed that while he is a Muslim and Mo Bimpe is a Christian, their religious differences never became an obstacle in their relationship.
According to him, peace, understanding and compatibility mattered more to him than religious affiliation.
Adedimeji admitted that Mo Bimpe initially had some reservations about the relationship, but he encouraged her to allow him meet her father, a step he said changed everything and eventually led to their marriage.
He said: “I promised never to marry someone from my industry, but God had better plans. I am a Muslim, she’s a Christian.”
He continued: “It didn’t matter to me because the most important thing before religion is my peace. She had her concerns, but I told her to let me meet her father, and the rest is history”.

According to Lateef, he and his wife have chosen to keep their children away from the public eye for now and will reveal their faces whenever they feel the time is right.
Reflecting on the early days of their relationship, the actor recalled previously sharing how he met Mo Bimpe while they were working on a film set.
He described his wife as a calm and reserved person, attributing her quiet nature to the way she was raised, spending much of her early life within the comfort of her family home.
