Lights, camera, action…
The streets of Ijebu-Ode have once again, on the 29th of May 2026, become Nigeria’s most glamorous cultural runway for the year’s Ojude Oba. Another year for a breathtaking fashion display, colorful traditional attires, kingsmen on horses, and dignitaries gracing the event.
Age-grade groups (regberegbe) are stealing the spotlight with meticulously coordinated aso-oke ensembles in rich metallic threads, vibrant silks, and intricate embroidery. Women glide in flowing iro and buba, crowned with dramatic gele headwraps, layered coral beads, and statement accessories that shimmer under the sun. Men command attention in agbadas featuring bold family motifs, paired with elegant fila caps and polished walking sticks.
Celebrities are not left out of the fashionable festival as Nollywood actors and actresses with the likes of Adeniyi Johnson, Rotimi Salami, Eniola Badmus, and Sikiratu Sindodo step out in colorful traditional attires.
Here are some looks for the festival:
Style icon Farooq Oreagba is expected to deliver signature steeze in custom aso-oke agbadas.
