Nigerian recording artiste Magixx has explained why he expects men to handle all the bills in relationships.
According to the foremost Nigerian musician, he doesn’t support men splitting the bills with their partners. He mentioned that men should be in charge of handling the bills in the house.
Speaking in a recent interview with Cool FM Lagos, the ‘Love Don’t Cost A Dime’ crooner said bills shouldn’t be split even if it is the woman who approached the man for a relationship.
“I don’t believe in 50/50. I believe a man should pay the bills even if it is the woman who asked him out,” he said.
Magixx, however, admitted that he is not sure if his view on 50/50 would have been the same if he wasn’t rich.
Alexander Adelabu, widely known as Magixx, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. In 2021, he was signed to Mavin Records. He is known for a distinctly hybrid approach fusing trap, dancehall, Afropop, and R&B.
Magixx began singing in the choir at the age of 10. In 2019, after struggling to pay for studio sessions at uni, Magixx released ‘Problem’, a showcase of the sounds he was experimenting with at that time. In September 2021, he was signed to Mavin Records and released his debut self-titled EP, Magixx, in that same year.
