Marvel change Black Panther 2 release date

Marvel just announced that the release date for the Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been changed.

The studio are pushing the highly anticipated sequel back by four months, from July 8, 2022, to November 11, 2022.

Wakanda Forever is not the only Marvel offering that got it’s release date pushed back. Other Marvel titles like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessThor: Love and ThunderThe Marvels and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have also all been delayed by several months.

Disney also announced that the fifth Indiana Jones film will be pushed back a year from July 2022 to June 30, 2023.

According to Marvel, the delays are due to production issues and related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, studios have been delaying their major releases until people are more comfortable returning to the cinemas. However, Marvel reiterated that this is not the reason behind their schedule change.

Four untitled 2023 movies from Marvel, 20th Century and Disney’s live-action division, have also been removed from the release calendar, while one untitled Marvel movie has been relocated from Nov. 10 to Nov. 3, 2023.
