Mercy Eke Opens Up About BBL Recovery Pain and Cosmetic Surgery Regrets

Mercy Eke

Reality TV star and entrepreneur Mercy Eke has opened up about her decision to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), revealing that she was influenced by peer pressure at a time when the cosmetic procedure was becoming increasingly popular.

Speaking candidly about the experience, the former Big Brother Naija winner admitted that the growing trend around body enhancement made her feel compelled to have the surgery.

According to her, it was not an easy decision, but she eventually went ahead with it because she wanted to keep up with what was fashionable at the time.

Eke disclosed that she was so nervous about the procedure that she deliberately kept it a secret from her mother.

She explained that she knew her mother would have discouraged her from going through with the surgery if she had known beforehand.

She said: “Peer pressure made me do a BBL at that time because it was trending. I was really scared; I didn’t tell my mum because I knew she would discourage me.”

Reflecting on the aftermath of the operation, Mercy described the recovery process as one of the most difficult experiences she has ever faced.

She explained that patients are unable to sleep on their buttocks for about two weeks after the surgery, a restriction that made the healing process particularly uncomfortable.

She also revealed that the pain was intense during the first few days following the procedure, recalling that she cried continuously for the first three days because of the discomfort.

She added: “You can’t sleep on your bum for 14 days, and you’ll cry for the first three days from the pain.”
