Nollywood actor Mike Ezuruonye has opened up about a difficult period in his career, revealing that he once considered stepping away from the Nigerian film industry entirely before a timely intervention changed his path.
Speaking candidly, the actor disclosed that there was a moment he had mentally checked out and was ready to leave Nollywood behind. According to Ezuruonye, the pressures and personal struggles at the time made it difficult to remain motivated, leading him to contemplate a complete exit from acting.
“There was a moment I was done… mentally checked out, left Nollywood behind,” he shared, reflecting on the challenging phase of his life“. He said

However, the actor decision took a different turn following the intervention of fellow actor and filmmaker Babarex. Mike recounted how Babarex stepped in at a crucial time, encouraging him not to give up on his talent or his place in the industry.
“Then Rex stepped in and said, ‘No bro… no way. Your talent is too much to disappear. You’re needed here,” he added.
The encouragement, according to Ezuruonye , played a significant role in reigniting his passion and ultimately led to his return to the screen.
