A video showing the moment nightlife entrepreneur and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest, was briefly denied entry at the Headies Award has surfaced on social media.
eelive.ng reports that the 17th edition of the awards ceremony took place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
The event featured prominent Nigerians, including the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo Olu, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux and his wife Priscilla, actress Nancy Isime, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan (BamBam), and Big Brother Naija 2021 winner White Money.
However, a video that surfaced captured the moment when bouncers denied the celebrity barman entry into the event for not having an invitation. Cubana ChiefPriest, visibly upset, is seen frantically making a call in the Igbo language.
He was later granted entry after using some connections at the event.

How Nigerians react
Many netizens mocked the celebrity barman for going to a place that he was not invited to, others however, expressed surprise that ‘such a man’ was refused entry.
One user wrote: “Pascal no be every event Davido go you go gum body put! At least get an invite to avoid embarrassment! Make your Kenyan baby mama no see this video you dun give her content for one week straight.”
