Mr. Macaroni popular Nigerian skit maker, has publicly criticised Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), accusing her of promoting a culture of impunity with her recent tweet about KWAM1’s apology.
The Fuji legend had apologised for his misconduct at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, where he attempted to obstruct a plane’s takeoff, prompting a six-month flying ban.

Dabiri-Erewa shared a video of KWAM1’s apology, captioning it “To err is human”. Many Nigerians felt this response was inadequate, given the severity of KWAM1’s actions.
Critics argue that Dabiri-Erewa’s tweet undermines the rule of law and suggests that influential individuals can avoid accountability by simply apologising.

The public reaction has been largely negative, with many calling out Dabiri-Erewa for perceived hypocrisy and favoritism. Some notable reactions include:
One Mr. Creed wrote: “Macaroni has consistently stood out as a good example amid the bad apples in our political space. You remain a non-partisan, detribalized Yoruba son, and I truly appreciate your unwavering efforts to promote sanity in your region and Nigeria as a whole.”
Network Chef said: “Dear @mrmacaronii sometimes I wish you didn’t speak to avoid b!gots lashing on you, but you have proven unshakeable and always stood your ground. May your days be long and your truthfulness which is rare these days be rewarded with good health.”
Honoromeh Aganga Media wrote: “In this our Nigeria, there are two sets of laws, one for the rich and one for the poor. And funny enough, it’s the rich who put the poor in that position. So shine your eyes… e fit be you next.”
Ramseybee007 said: “My own is Emmanson apology must be accepted too. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.”
