Nigerian recording artiste David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has stated that the Nigerian music industry would have been boring without him.
He claimed his X handle when he wrote, “Imagine no Davido…. Sh*t [the music industry] would have been boring AF.”
His post elicited mixed reactions, with many arguing that he was overestimating his contribution to the music industry.

This is not the first time Davido is claiming he is the lifeblood of the Nigerian music industry.
In an interview with Apple Music in April 2025, Davido claimed that the Nigerian music industry shut down when he took a break from social media in November 2022 following the tragic death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
