Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has finally broken his silence on the emotional birthday message he wrote to actress Kate Henshaw earlier this month.
In a recent interview, Jim Iyke clarified that his heartfelt message was not meant to impress anyone or convey anything romantic. Instead, it was a genuine expression of his deep and longstanding friendship with Kate, whom he has known for over 20 years.

Jim described Kate as “his boy” – someone he trusts completely and can be vulnerable with without fear of judgment. He emphasized that their bond is built on mutual trust and respect, allowing them to share their thoughts and feelings freely. “There’s nothing sexual about it,” he said. “This is someone I can speak my truth to and get honest advice from. It’s just a genuine friendship.”
Jim Iyke also addressed the misconceptions surrounding his message, stating that people often project their own meanings into things. “People catapulted it into realms that had nothing to do with it,” he said. He concluded by asserting that he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation and doesn’t live by public opinion, adding, “I spoke as only I can speak. However you interpret it, it’s entirely your business.”
