Ibrahim Chatta breaks silence on AMVCA snub

Ibrahim Chatta, a prominent Nigerian movie actor, has disclosed that his deceased daughter was buried in a wooden crate of Coke.

Chatta, speaking during a video conversation with crew members while on a movie set, explained that all efforts to raise money when the child was admitted to a hospital in the Iddo area of Lagos State proved abortive.

Revisiting the incident, the actor said his late child was buried in a wooden Coca-Cola crate.

The Nollywood actor has this to say, “Malik is not my firstborn. My first child is a baby girl. I lost her because I couldn’t pay the hospital bills.

“She was taken to the hospital in the Iddo area of Lagos State. I trekked from Ijora Badia to Makoko, and I couldn’t get any money until she died. My first child was buried in the old wooden crate of Coke.”

Ibrahim Chatta is a Nigerian actor, producer, and director.

Chatta was born in Bacita, Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State, Nigeria. He grew up in a large family with 14 siblings. His mother, originally from Modakeke in Osun State, died after a prolonged battle with diabetes. His father is also deceased. Before becoming an actor, Chatta worked as a bus driver to support himself and his family. He began his career in theatre, where he developed his acting skills, before transitioning to film.

His breakthrough in Nollywood came with his role in the movie Aiyekooto, produced by Sharafadeen Olabode and directed by Adebayo Tijani.
