Nancy Isime, the popular Nollywood actress and television host, has opened up about a tough chapter from her teenage years, offering fans a glimpse into the challenges she faced while pursuing her dreams.

In a candid and emotional post shared on her social media page, the 32-year-old star reflected on her early years as a struggling model and event usher, recounting how she began hustling as early as 17.

Isime revealed that she often had to work late into the night at events, sometimes with no means to return home.

Back then, it wasn’t easy at all. I would sometimes work until midnight, and with no transport fare or vehicle available, I’d either walk long distances or find somewhere to sleep, sometimes on chairs, sometimes even on the floor,” she wrote.

Despite her family’s concerns, especially her father’s, Isime noted that she had always been fiercely independent.

Yes, my family was always worried, especially my dad, but I’m a dangerous gyal and it’s best to let me figure out life my way, else the rebellion is quite rebellious,” she joked.

During one of these trying periods, Nancy reached out to someone she had come to know through a mutual circle, Afrobeats sensation, Yemi Alade. In need of a safe place to stay, she humbly asked Yemi if she could spend a few days at her home.

To her surprise, Yemi didn’t hesitate. Not only did she say yes, but she also welcomed Nancy into her space like family.

I stayed for weeks and this woman NEVER EVER complained. In fact, the peace was too much,” Nancy wrote, describing her experience in Yemi’s home as peaceful and healing.

She went on to praise Yemi Alade’s selflessness and kind nature, calling her “one of the bookmarks of kindness and generosity” in her life.

Many years later, I still have the softest spot for Yemi and will eternally be grateful to her. She was peaceful, considerate, and full of positive energy when I needed it the most,” Isime shared.

After gaining admission into the university, Nancy said she was eventually able to rent her own apartment in the same building where Yemi lived at the time, and their friendship only grew stronger from there.

Concluding her emotional tribute, the media personality expressed unwavering loyalty and love for her longtime friend.

My Padi @yemialade, I dey for you for life!” she wrote.
