The minute we hear Nigeria and Netflix, our mind just goes to Lionheart and who can blame anybody? Genevieve Nnaji did us proud there and gave us a movie we can hand down as a lesson in morals to our children.

However, Lionheart (albeit a Netflix production) joined a host of other Nigerian movies on Netflix to truly solidify our content offerings there. Recently, the 2018 movie, “Chief Daddy” was added to the list of wonderful movies available on Netflix.

“The Arbitration” is a 2016 romantic drama written by Chinaza Onuzo and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan. It stars actors like OC Ukeje, Adesua Etomi, Iretiola Doyle amongst others. It is about love gone sour and revenge sought for in the arms of the Nigerian legal system.

Our pace-setting Genevieve appears in this movie about a struggling married couple who try to save their troubled marriage by reconnecting to each other on a road trip.

Adesua Etomi in this movie plays a devoted wife that has to make hard decisions when her husband is in an accident that leaves him in a vegetative state.

 

  1. Fifty

 

EbonyLife TV produced this one and we know it is good. “Fifty” follows the life of 4 women and their lives in a way that has never been seen. We get a look into daring women living lives at the age of 50 that even 25 year olds will not dare to.

 

  1. The Visit

This movie will leave you heaving with laughter. Nse Ikpe Etim and Blossom Chukwujekwu act in roles like never seen and they make Femi Jacobs and Bayray McNwizu act in similarly shocking manner.
