A video of Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, performing at a church event has sparked mixed reactions online.
In the clip, the actor is seen on stage holding a microphone and singing alongside other performers during a church program. The footage quickly circulated on social media, drawing both criticism and defence from netizens.
Many people expressed disappointment and questioned the decision to have him perform in a church setting, citing his past legal issues. Some described the development as unfortunate and raised concerns about societal values and the protection of minors.

A few others, however, argued that the church is a place of forgiveness and redemption, stating that everyone deserves a second chance.
Baba Ijesha was previously sentenced to five years in prison in connection with a sexual offence involving a minor. The conviction was later upheld by the Court of Appeal. He completed his sentence and was released in late 2025.
The viral video has once again brought his past into public discussion, with opinions divided between those calling for accountability and those emphasising forgiveness.
