A Nigerian lady has stated that the country’s system doesn’t include those who embody albinism.
According to the Nigerian lady, who is albino, she has lost several job opportunities due to her albinism.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast alongside other people living with albinism, the lady said she was initially unaware that her albinism would affect her chances of getting the job.

According to her, she was later told that she was the most qualified person for the position, but the organisation would not hire her because of what they described as her “condition.”
“I have been denied a job opportunity because I’m a woman with albinism. I was the most qualified. In fact, I was told,” she said.

She described the experience as one of the ways people living with albinism continue to face discrimination despite having the qualifications and skills required for opportunities.
Eelive.ng reported that albinism is a rare, inherited genetic condition where the body produces little or no melanin, the pigment that determines the color of skin, hair, and eyes.
