Social media users have slammed Nigerian rapper Erigga for plagiarising tweets on the microblogging site, X.
On Wednesday, April 23, the rapper published a tweet on his official X account without crediting the original creator.
Erigga’s tweet reads, “Nigerian women are not deep. They date for survival, not romance. Thus, an intentional man means rich. Romance means a monetary gesture. Love means footing their bills. What you people are doing in Nigeria, is not a relationship… (sic)”

Upon seeing the post on X, several netizens claimed that the original tweet was composed by Sir Dickson. Sir Dickson is a well-known user, with over half a million followers at the time of posting this.
Several commentators admonished the rapper to credit the original composer, however, he has refused to acknowledge the person who wrote. Taking to X, the composer, Sir Dickson, sent an eye icon to quote Erigga’s copied tweet.
The rapper’s actions have infuriated several netizens who are hurling insults at him. Pundits have also mentioned that Erigga “is not that smart”.
This comes a month after the release of his latest album, G.O.A.T. The 13-track album features standout singles “Up Iweka” and “DSC,” as well as popular artists like Bella Shmurda, Big Klef, Phyno, Ajebo Hustlers, and more.

Meanwhile, here is the original statement written by Sir Dickson on social media, which Erigga copied verbatim:
“Nigerian women are not deep. They date for survival, not romance. Thus, intentional man means rich. Romance means monetary gesture. Love means footing their bills. What you people are doing in Nigeria, is not relationship.
“By the way, why do you need that first line before you can say your mind? You sound apologetic like you’re embarrassed to be a good girl.”
