Nigerian singer Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has publicly addressed speculation about his sexuality, making it clear that he is not gay.
The 30-year-old Afrobeats star said he understands why some people make assumptions about him because of his appearance, but insisted that those assumptions are incorrect.
The singer took to social media to set the record straight after recurring conversations about his style and fashion choices resurfaced online.
Fireboy, who is known for his distinctive sense of style, including his clear skin, earrings and bold fashion statements, acknowledged that his appearance may lead some people to draw conclusions about him.

“To set the record straight, no pun intended. I’m not gay. Cause I understand, the aesthetics confuse people. Skin clear, piercings and all that. I get it, but no.”
