A Nigerian woman has disclosed the other side of couples when they display affection in public.
The young Nigerian woman known as Onyedeke Chidinma suggested that couples who share ‘happy moments’ of their marriage online for external validation often break up faster than the private ones.
Using her case as an example, Chidinma recalled a period when she would come online to share happy things about her husband and marriage.

She had this to say, “I have been on this social media for so long, and I have noticed a pattern,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
“A couple that shares their happy moments, memories, lifestyle, and love online, end up breaking up, divorcing, or tearing apart after a few years.
“It is as if the online happy couples, their happiness is short-lived.
“I remember a time when I would come online to happily share things about my husband and my marriage, those were the period we recorded a high rate of quarrelling and misunderstanding in our marriage.
What am I trying to say? Dear happy couple, take your marriage, children, and family away from social media; people can’t destroy what they don’t see.
Not every happy comment you see is actually happy for you; many are witches behind keypads. Be careful!”
