Bashir El-Rufai, the son of the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially announced the end of his marriage to Halima Kazaure.
The revelation came during the Eid celebrations on X (formerly Twitter), where the former Governor’s son was interacting with users under a post featuring another woman.
When questioned, El-Rufai clarified his relationship status, revealing that he is now divorced and that the woman in question is his new fiancée.
“I divorced my first wife, I have no time for GenZ wahala. The difference is clear. I had no clue Nupe women treat their husbands like emperors. Loving it,” he wrote.
The couple, who tied the knot in a high-profile wedding on November 21, 2020, share a notable political lineage. Halima is the daughter of Ibrahim Kazaure, a former senator from Jigawa State.

Long before the official confirmation, hints of trouble in paradise had surfaced online.
Kazaure had previously shared cryptic social media posts hinting at marital friction, including a photo of herself listening to Chike’s poignant track, “If You No Love,” amidst the highly publicized online drama between media personality Frank Edoho and his estranged wife, Sandra. She captioned the post, “Chike dey for you.”
