‘Nobody Sits When She Praises’ -Yinka Alaseyori Set to Shake The Experience

Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori has been hailed by the organisers of The Experience as a “unique force” in indigenous worship, as the 20th edition of the mega concert gets underway at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

At a press briefing held Friday ahead of the all‑night event, a moderator described her worship style as powerful and transformative.

In his words: “Some may call her an indigenous praise worship leader out of Nigeria. We really respect her because in Nigeria when it comes to Oriki. And oriki is a title for a specified, a very very strong level of praise. Let me put it this way, there’s food you shouldn’t eat with your shoes on. 

And there are praise that you give that you can’t hear and still be sat, that’s the kind of praise she serves. Adeyinka Alaseyori. Nobody sits when she starts to praise God”.

The Experience which began in 2006 with about 70,000 attendees has grown into one of Africa’s largest gospel concerts.

This year’s theme, “Jesus United,” promises to draw hundreds of thousands of worshippers in person, and millions more online.

The 2025 lineup brings together renowned Nigerian and international gospel stars. Alongside Yinka Alaseyori are stars like Sinach, Mercy Chinwo, Moses Bliss, Dunsin Oyekan, Frank Edwards, and many others in addition to international ministers including Israel Houghton, Travis Greene, Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore and Chevelle Franklyn.
