Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has publicly accused her estranged husband, actor Freddie Leonard, of deliberately slowing down their divorce process, escalating their once-private marital issues into a very public spectacle.
In a strongly worded Instagram post, Ovire claimed Leonard failed to appear in court after being served divorce papers and has avoided customary court proceedings for the second time. She specifically urged him not to dodge the next hearing scheduled for June 23rd.

“You said you wanted a divorce, yet you didn’t show up when you were served… please don’t avoid customary court for the 2nd time on June 23rd because I’m coming with receipts & let’s make this divorce done and dusted,” she wrote.
Ovire further alleged that, after initially denying her claims through a blogger, Leonard changed tactics upon seeing the details of her petition but still refused to appear in person, opting instead to send his lawyer.
The accusations come months after Ovire posted a detailed, multi-slide cryptic message in February 2026, describing a scenario of a husband allegedly involved with a married woman with four children, who claims she is now tied directly to Leonard.
The couple, who tied the knot in November 2022 after dating for several years, have seen their marriage crumble publicly. While Leonard has previously stated that he ended the relationship over differences in values and submission, Ovire is pushing for a swift resolution, accusing him of dragging the process despite both parties supposedly wanting out.
The matter remains before the customary court as reactions continue to pour in online.
