The Yoruba Nollywood community is in shock following the sudden death of fast-rising actress Esther Odeniyi, popularly known as Berry White.
Her colleague, Bakare Zainab, announced the news on Instagram, revealing that Berry White collapsed in her apartment three days ago and died. Zainab appealed for help in contacting Berry White’s family, as her corpse remains in the house.
Bimbo Afolayan who is also an actress expressed disbelief over the news, revealing that Berry White had featured in her upcoming film. “I don’t understand. She is inside the movie I am about to drop, and she said we are doing the PR together.”

On the other hand, Regina Chukwu an actress, raised concerns over Berry White’s past claims of receiving life threats, mentioning a post where Berry White shared a woman’s photo and phone number, warning that if anything happened to her, the woman should be held responsible.
Aisha Mohsimple shared an emotional post recalling their last moment together at a party, expressing regret over not being able to do more for Berry White. “So sad about this… At Zee’s party you walked to me and told me ‘Ashabi je ki Wura fi phone e yami, mio reni yami lati aro’.”
