Nosa Rex Okunzuwa, (aka Baba Rex), a Nigerian film and TV actor and film producer, has publicly criticised several Ghanaian television stations reportedly broadcasting his newly released movie, which he posted on YouTube, without his consent.
In an Instagram video, Nosa Rex expressed his annoyance over the infringement, saying how much unauthorised airing undermines the investment, creativity and hard work put into filmmaking.
The actor was heard saying: “Ghana TV station, Ghana TV Station. The TV station wey dey show our film for free. Na Ogun wey go kpai all of una. Ghana entertainment will continue to be behind. As e be say nobody wan get sense tell una say that thing wey una dey no good. I’m using this opportunity to call out all of Ghana TV stations. You guys are all stupid. No disrespect to my fans, you guys know that I love you but e don dey too much. Enough is Enough. I just released Prince of Peace, una don stream am. Why?”

He also stated that his colleagues has spoken about the same matter before, but nothing has been done. Slamming the Ghanaian television broadcasters, the actor stressed that the unprofessionalism from the broadcasting station is reason they are backwards

Speaking further, Nosa Rex, has advised the offending stations to desist from piracy and respect intellectual property rights, adding that such practices harm the growth of the African film industry.
