Olu Jacobs receives Life Time Achievement Award at 2021 AFRIFF

Veteran Nigerian actor, Olu Jacobs, has received the Life Time Achievement Award at the 2021 AFRIFF Globe Awards.

He received the award for his contribution to the Nigerian movie industry.

His wife and actress made this known through her Instagram page on Sunday.

Sharing a picture of her husband with his award she wrote “Lifetime achievement award winner, sir Olu Jacobs @_olujacobs, curtesy @afriff.”

The Africa International Film Festival, AFRIFF, is an annual film festival that takes place in Nigeria. It began in 2010 with its Inaugural edition in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

In June 2020, rumours surfaced on the social media that Olu Jacobs had died.

However, in a statement by by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), it attributed the reports to the workings of mischief makers and industry enemies.

It read “This is to inform the general public that our legendary actor, Olu Jacobs is alive, very hale, and hearty. Disregard the malicious rumor about his death making rounds.

“The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria is in touch with the family. We use this medium to warn mischief makers and enemies of our industry to desist from this wickedness.”

Also, Actress Kemi Lala Akindoju debunked the death rumours of the veteran actor.
