Omotola Jalade Narrates How She Escaped Being Rape After Encountering Bad Boys in Mushin

Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has recounted how she pleaded her way out of being raped after venturing into a tough neighbourhood in Mushin, Lagos, to look for money to help pay her brother’s school fees.

The actress cum filmmaker, while appearing at The Afropolitan Show, explained that she was just 15 years old at the time, when a colleague in the film industry took her to the area to meet some men known for lending money.

Omotola said they had to go through a tough area before reaching the place where the men were waiting. She mentioned that the men were known in the neighbourhood for giving out loans and had a reputation for being dangerous.

She recalled pleading with the men for money, explaining that her brother needed help to pay his school fees.

The actress said the situation was scary because she was young and surrounded by men known for causing trouble. She admitted things could have gone wrong, but she believes she was protected and nothing bad happened.

She said: “There was also a time when a colleague in the industry took me to some place in Mushin, some ghetto place. We walked through this rough place. I was about 15 years old then. We got to this place and these bad boys were there, like in a sitting room, and I begged them that I was looking for money for my brother’s school fees. And this guy looked at me, they could have raped me”

The actress said the men eventually agreed to give her the money she requested. However, she later faced problems when it was time to repay the loan.

According to her, she was unable to return the money as agreed. This led to tension with the lenders, who began threatening her because of the unpaid debt.

She explained that the situation later reached her home, where the men went to confront her family. During that visit, they removed some items from the house, including the family’s television and DVD player, to recover the money they believed they were owed.
